HOW TO UNCATEGORIZE AN OBJECT
Mac
users go
here and get some cool tools!
Some objects of this site have been categorized for all existing lots
and you might not have all the EPs for the lots it was categorized
for. We cannot post several versions of the same object due to space
limitations, so you'll have to do some work! Uncategorizing an object
is needed to avoid a game crash when
you don't have the lot it was categorized for.
Caution:
this is not valid for objects which will only work with a certain
EP. This requires a certain hacking which will be explained later
on since Maxis has apparently no objection in editing objects to work
for another EP.
1. Download Simcategorizer
(free program) latest version even
if you don't have Makin' Magic since our objects are edited for
Makin' Magic.
2. Open it and look for your
object by clicking on "objects in folders" (upper left part)
and scroll till you find the folder where you extracted your object
(most of the time in "downloads")
3. Look for the object you want
to uncategorize and click on it.
4. Press "edit object"
5. For each category of lots
you don't have (Downtown/HD, Vacation, Community/Unleashed, Studio
Town/Superstar Magic Town/Makin' Magic) click on "none"
to uncategorize the object. The example below shows you the object
now categorize only for downtown i.e. HD and doesn't show the latest
version of simcat with MM lots.

6. Click on "save objects"
and you are done.
If you want more details on how to use
Simcategorizer look at Deb's tutorial
on how to categorize an object.
Simenhancer
Object Manager can be used all the same but not
featured since far from being a free program, however if the site
of Simcategorizer is down, it's a good alternative and just use the
free 48h trial version.
